On Wednesday,two persons dropped dead in bizarre circumstances at the Refinery Junction in Eleme, Rivers State.
One of the deceased, a woman in her 60s collapsed after getting of a commercial motorcycle, while the second, a man around 70 years old, died after alighting from a commercial vehicle.
The man’s son darted to the scene after he was called,and took the carcass away with others.
According to the son, his father was at Eleme to withdraw money at a bank.
However, the deaths have been connected to the COVID-19 second wave. Nigeria confirmed 1,354 new infections on Tuesday, the highest daily figure since the pandemic started.
