One 35-Years-Old Alao Ganiyu,who is a travel agent has been dragged to a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Kaduna for reportedly defrauding a traveller of N1.7million.
The defendant was charged by the police with criminal breach of trust, cheating and forgery,while he pleaded not guilty to all counts.
Sunday Baba,who is the police prosecutor revealed the complainant, Lawal Salami, petitioned the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal and Investigation Department on October 25.
He disclosed to the court that in 2019, the defendant promised to secure a visa to the Bahamas for Salami but instead, forged visa and ticket for the complainant,and converted N1.7million he collected to personal use,which makes Salami trip impossible as he was turned back at the airport.
Magistrate Aisha Danja, however gave Ganiyu option of N500,000, bail with two sureties in like sum,which the sureties must be resident within the jurisdiction of the court with permanent residential addresses.
The case was adjourned until November 25 for hearing.
