Men of the Kwara State Police Command have nabbed 144 suspects allegedly involved in last Friday’s looting spree in Ilorin,the state capital.
Amongst items retrived were motorcycles and vehicles utilized in carting away the looted substances.
The Police Commissioner Mr Kayode Egbetokun,while parading the suspects on Monday before journalists at the state police command headquarters in Ilorin, disclosed that all suspects apprehended were caught with looted items in their retention.
He however implored members of the public to offer information on other stolen materials kept within the state capital, assuring that such information would be kept confidential.
Egbetokun also advised those holding such looted items to willingly relinquish them to the police or any of the head of the security agencies in the state,stating that ” Individuals who willingly surrender their stolen items would be forgiven, and would not face prosecution.”
Egbetokun declared that the command in collaboration with other associated security agencies would leave no stone unturned in nabbing all looters in the state.
He however appreciated members of the public and other affliated agencies for their cooperation in the achievement recorded so far in hunting for the looters, which he revealed, was still going on.
