Ogun State government has announced that schools will be reopened on September 21 after five months closure to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.


Kunle Somorin, who is the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dapo Abiodun, made it known in a statement on Monday that all classes in primary and secondary schools are to be reopened ,noting that tertiary institutions are also permitted to resume the same day,September 21.



As part of COVID-19 protocols,the time for school had been however staggered for public schools.



Primary one to three pupils will be in school from 8am to 11am; while those in Primary 4 to 6 will be in classes from 12 noon to 3pm.


The same hours goes for those in secondary schools, according to Somorin.



Technical and Vocational will operate their conventional school hours of 8am to 2pm,while Early Child Care Development and Education classes for infants aged 3 to 5 years will not be resuming in public schools until the next phase of schools reopening.
