Operatives of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have apprehended 70 suspected drug traffickers and intercepted 1,537.472 kilograms of banned drugs in Novermber,Kano State.
Dr Ibrahim Abdul, who is the Kano State NDLEA Commander, disclosed this in an interview with journalists on Tuesday that the Command achieved the conviction of 16 suspects while some are still going through trial.
“We were able to intercept 1,323.472 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa, Psychotropic 214.323 kilograms, Cocaine 0.001kg.” He revealed.
The commander said that two trucks and a Honda vehicle were interrupted with 722 kilograms and 201 kilograms of Cannabis sativa respectively.
Abdul implored the populace, particularly traditional, religious and community leaders to keep on contributing essential support to the Command in combating the threat.
