One Quadri Taiwo,aged 17,was on Monday arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for reportedly threatening his mother’s life.
Taiwo was charged for breach of peace and threat to life, punishable under sections 168 and 56 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015, by the police.
ASP Kehinde Ajayi, who is the prosecutor revealed to the court that the accused committed the offence in November 2020 at Balogun Street, Orile-Agege in Lagos State.
He said the defendant threatened the life of Mojisola Taiwo, over a conflicting matter,adding that Taiwo also administered himself in an attitude likely to incite an infringement of the peace by sending a series of offensive text messages to his mother.
“Taiwo was, however, arrested after a thorough investigation,’’ Ajayi said.
The accused , nevertheless, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Ruling, Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.O Ajibade, granted the defendant N50,000 bail with one surety in like sum, adjourning the case until Feb. 11.
