On Thursday, the Deputy Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Oludare Kadiri, was impeached by 19 out of the 26 lawmakers of the Ogun State House of Assembly for alleged gross misconduct.
Recollect that ,Kadiri was nabbed and investigated by the police at the state headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta on Friday.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, who is the Ogun State Police spokesperson confirmed that the legislator was apprehended for reportedly ushering a squad of hoodlums to assault some politicians, inclusive the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, in Oru-Ijebu, Ijebu North Local Government.
However, during plenary on Thursday, the Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo, declared the impeachment of his Deputy. This came after an ad-hoc Committee set up to probe allegations of gross misconduct against Kadiri found him blameworthy.
