One Abdullahi Bashir who is a 400 Level student of the Mathematics Department, Federal University, Dutse(FUD), Jigawa State ,has committed suicide over reported infidelity by his girlfriend.
It was gathered that the deceased drank a poisonous substance widely known as ‘sniper’ on Monday, around 4:00 pm at Yelwawa quarters in Dutse Local Government Area, after accusing his girlfriend, Rafi,atu Muhammad, a 200 Level student ,for cheating on Valentine’s Day .
Abdullahi Yahaya Bello, who is the University’s Public Relations Officer ,confirmed the incident to the press, disclosing that the student was hurried to Rasheed Shekoni Teaching Hospital, Dutse, where he was declared deceased.
However ,Bello revealed that the University is carrying out an investigation to establish the factor of demise.
